BlueVolt Releases New Training Course Addressing the Electrical Contractor’s Role in Green Projects
BlueVolt announces its new NECA online training course “Emerging Green Markets - Strategies for Electrical Contractors On LEED® and Green Building Projects.” BlueVolt’s interactive course bridges the gap between the electrical contracting industry and the emerging green building market by demystifying the electrical contractor’s role on green building projects.
The comprehensive course provides an overview of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system for green buildings. It defines what makes a building “green” and clarifies green building market trends through informative narrative and text, interactive exercises, and case studies, including testimonials from electrical contractors experienced in green building.
Originally initiated by Electri International in 2005, the course was based on a Penn State University study that revealed a critical need for members of the electrical contracting industry to obtain a firmer grasp on the emerging green building market.
“In a rapidly changing environment where buildings have an increasingly vital impact on people’s lives and the planet’s health, technology is adapting with appropriate speed and force,” said Don Spear, president, BlueVolt. “BlueVolt’s new course is an essential educational resource for electrical contractors to keep abreast of this ever-evolving issue of ‘green.’”
To date, BlueVolt has delivered over 170,000 online training courses to more than 30,000 users.
